HARLEYWOOD CAFE' NEWS

Highway 82 Opening Ceremony -- 2003

Highway 82 Snowmass Canyon opening.

On Tuesday, October 7, Harleywood Cafe provided refreshments for the State of Colorado opening ceremonies and press tour for the up valley lanes of the Snowmass Canyon Project. The lanes will be open to the public by the end of this week or early next week. During the next short period, the Lower River Road Detour will be used when necessary during the day. All traffic will use the new lanes in the late afternoon and evenings. This long awaited event will improve the lives of thousands of Roaring Fork Valley commuters, and is a major step in making Hwy 82 a 4-lane road from Glenwood Springs to Buttermilk Ski Mountain, slated for completion in the fall of 2005, but currently ahead of schedule with a predicted early finish of Fall, 2004.
