HARLEY: Since 1978, Harley has worked with
numerous artists, in the studio
and on tour. Though not a complete list, they include : Tom Petty
and the
Heartbreakers, Jackson Browne, David Bromberg, The Eagles, The
Band, Hall &
Oates, Jimmy Buffet and Glen Frey. He worked as a guitar and
backline
technician. This portion of Harley’s career has allowed
him to travel
throughout the United States, Europe and the Orient.
HARLEYWOOD SOUND: This is Harley’s P.A.
company that he has operated in the
Roaring Fork Valley since 1988.He has an extensive "state
of the art"
inventory, which he rents in various situations. With his equipment
and his
own expertise, Harley has been involved in productions with The
Hard Rock
Café in Aspen, The Wheeler Opera House, Jazz Aspen and
numerous benefits
locally.
On a smaller scale, yet equally as rewarding,
just about every local
musician has used his tech services to enhance their sound. Harley
is also
adept at E-Bay sales. His company buys and sells regularly to
both upgrade
and maintain inventory.
JO ELLEN: Since 1975, Jo Ellen has been
involved in just about every aspect of food-service. Her first job was
scooping ice cream at Carvel as a Jersey girl, then running
the cash register at a large department store employee cafeteria, and
on to waitressing
at a diner (remember, this was in N.J., diner capital of the world).
After moving to Aspen,
Jo Ellen found employment with The Holland House as a breakfast cook,
then The Aspen Mine Co. as a line cook. She also waitressed at
Faye’s Restaurant
in Basalt where
she got to know many “down valley” locals.
ASPEN VALLEY HOSPITAL: Jo Ellen has had a
long and rewarding career at AVH.
In 1980 she was hired in the Nutritional Services Department.
She is well
known at the hospital as an excellent cook and a friendly, helpful
person.
She was the kitchen manager's assistant for several years and
the interim
Director of the department in 2000.
PRIVATE CHEF: Jo Ellen has helped with the
menus and/or personally catered
for E.S.Lawrence Fine Arts Gallery, catering arists’ showings,
Revlon
Cosmetics Vice President, Donald Drapkin, Snowmass Village, Co.,
Charles
Balbach of the Aspen Art Gallery, personal chef, B.J. & Michael
Adams
Realtors, Snowmass Village, Co., assistant to personal chef.
PERSONAL: Harley & Jo Ellen were married
in May 1981. Both of their children
have followed in their father's footsteps as competent musicians.
Harley
III, age 20, plays guitar and Taylor, age 18 is a drummer. They
have lived
in the Roaring Fork Valley for 24 years. This has allowed them
to get to
know hundreds of locals and enjoyed the camaraderie of almost
as many
tourists. They truly consider themselves to be “people
persons."

At Harleywood Cafe´ we
provide terrific food, at reasonable prices, with easy take-out
or sit-down dining. We serve Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, El Jebel,
and Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We're located on Highway 82,
at "Old" Snowmass, about twenty-seven miles up valley
from Glenwood Springs and twelve miles down valley from Aspen.
